A central Zagros foothill site that began as a seasonal herding camp, Sarab gradually developed into a more permanent early Neolithic village.
It shows clear evidence of early sheep/goat domestication, mixed wild and cultivated plant use (emmer and barley in later phases), and a shift toward farming lifestyles within a highly seasonal, and resource-rich early Holocene environment.
