Such track ways were used by early human societies for travel, trade, and communication.

In 1835, the site was first noticed. It was thereby visited and analyzed by the Somerset Archaeology Society. 20 something years later

Abbots Way, is a specific historical path in the British Isles. The route connected important sites, such as settlements, burial grounds, and ritual sites
The construction of these involved laying down wooden planks or stones to create a stable surface over marshy or uneven terrain. It helped facilitate movement and transportation of goods.
